Jeana started writing about farming and science while working as a conservation specialist in Hawaii. Visiting farms and talking with boot-strapping farmers was her inspiration to begin EdibleSci, a science-focused digital media company, geared at communicating agricultural and natural resource topics. Sharing stories to paint the full picture: the exciting, the beautiful, and the gritty side of farming and horticulture has the potential to bridge the gap and support businesses that are functioning to improve our food and environmental system.
Her current PhD work in sustainable development looks at small farming systems and long-term sustainability for farmers around the world. She enjoys traveling for her research, and talking story with the people she meets along the way.
