Today I’m raising our website design prices once again. In 2017, I started building websites for the first time in my life as a job. For me, it was a way to help businesses build their brand online while I was living in Mexico.

Today, designing websites is my work passion.

A lot has changed in the past year and a half of business. I’ve learned so much about websites, how they work and what sets the best ones apart from the rest. I’ve learned how SEO works and design best practices. I’ve found out that designing is one thing I truly enjoy and it is something that I want to continue as long as I can.

I’ve also found out that people don’t value what they don’t pay for. I’ve found out that it can be extremely frustrating if you are not paying yourself a fair wage. And I’ve found out that in order to grow a company, you have to hire exceptional people that can do better work than yourself. Today, I’m raising our website design prices and below I’ll go into a little more why.

From now on, our websites will be 100% custom.

I have built websites on Wordpress, I’ve created them with Squarespace, and each of these programs have their benefits, but I have decided that they are much too hard to customize to truly fit my customers needs. Each of these programs are not true website builders. They use php and JavaScript to construct web pages and push out extremely poor code to the browser which is hard to read if you want to do any customizing.

These programs are hard to integrate with software, especially Squarespace, and they basically all look the same. I had a hard time calling myself a website “designer” when I used these programs because all I was doing was taking a template another designer had built and changing the content to match the customers needs. This might work for some companies, but I think it makes the web a boring place. Also, it will eventually make a customers website look just like the other trillion out there.

Our websites won’t be built on a template. Each one will be uniquely designed with our customers needs in mind.

People value what they pay for.

The reality is that people just plain don’t value what they think is cheap. Years ago, a design company built a customers website for $6,500. By the time it was finished, (it took a year) it was already out of date and not even mobile responsive. My customer ended up having to do all of the websites copyrighting work and supply all of the photos and it just didn’t accurately portray the company.

That being said, my customer still placed a high value on the website. They had paid the bill and come to value what was done for them. Although they thought the service was terrible and probably would never recommend the designer, they truly valued what was done, so they had a hard time getting to the place where they were willing to hire another designer.

I believe our service is truly better.

The third reason I am raising our prices is because I really believe our design service is better than others. I am not trying to sell my services to customers who want the cheapest of everything. I am trying to sell our service to customers who want a high-quality website designed at a fair price.

We go above and beyond for our customers.

Not only are we not satisfied until you are, we offer 24/6 support in case something goes wrong or you notice something that you would like to add a month after the project is complete, for free. A lot of design companies will be hard to reach or not provide this for free. We are always available.

We build our websites with SEO in mind.

I’ve learned a lot about the ever changing rules of SEO this past year and I will continue to work hard to learn more. We build every single site with proper meta tags and descriptions, setting your website apart from the rest. Most web designers don’t provide content at all, so you will be left wondering where to start.

We provide content and copyrighting in the price.

Many website design companies do not include copyrighting, which is why most projects take 6-12 months to complete. They expect you to provide all of the writing and pictures, which means the only thing you are getting is a template.

With each website we build, we will now provide copyrighting and photography if needed in the price. We will write your website in user friendly terms and SEO friendly words. I think this alone is priceless.

These are just a few of the reasons why I’m raising our prices. There are more, but these are the main ones I wanted to share. I really want to help you grow your brand online, but in order to do this, we have to be sustainably growing ours as well.
