Six Benefits of Blogging for your Business.

Business Blogging

Christopher Wray

It was only a little over a decade ago when blogging was popular among . . . well, bloggers.

But today, we see that millions of businesses are now generating original content for their own sites. Why the sudden uptick in blogging?

There are six benefits of blogging that you and your company should identify as valuable to your business. We’re going to discuss each of these benefits in this piece.

Let’s dive right in!

1. Direct Traffic to Your Site

Blogging is one of the most effective ways of bringing organic traffic to your site, and there are two reasons why this is true.

First, written content is extremely marketable because it’s free. All you’re asking from people in exchange is their attention.

Second, every time you produce original content, you’re telling Google and other search engines that you’re important. When used in tandem with search engine optimization (SEO), original content allows your business to rank for different keywords.

2. Generate and Nurture Leads

Not only can you direct traffic with your content, but you can also convert that traffic into leads.

Make a habit of incorporating call-to-actions (CTAs) into your blog posts. Every time you issue new content, engage your audience.

You might even use your content to market a new eBook, which you can give away in exchange for your reader’s email address. This brings you one step closer to converting prospects into customers.

3. Build Relationships with Customers

So many businesses fail on the customer relations front. They ask and ask, but never listen. They sell and sell, but never give.

Would you expect customers to trust you or be invested in your brand if you only employed money-hungry marketing tactics? Blogging is one of the ways you can engage your audience without asking them for anything.

And that goes a long, long way.

4. Market Your Products and Services

Blogging gives you the ability to expound on your products and services. And here’s the best part – people don't mind as much because, after all, you’re giving them free content.

What other avenue gives you this kind of opportunity?

Marketing through content gives your audience a better look at what you can offer and why it’s of importance.

5. Increase Reputability

When you cover a topic thoroughly and repeatedly, guess what? People start to view you as an expert – and perhaps even an industry leader – in your niche.

And they’re not wrong. The more you research something, the more information you’re able to glean, learn, and reinforce over time.

6. Develop Your Brand’s Voice

Take a moment to think about what separates your business from its competition. If you’re having a tough time identifying those elements, the reality might be that you’re not all that different . . . yet.

One of the unsung benefits of blogging is the extra dimension it gives your brand. With a blog, you have the ability to exercise your company’s style guide and develop your voice.

Over time, your audience will begin to understand what you’re about and what makes you stand out.
